Thinking you have to be flexible to do yoga is a myth. Yoga was actually created to help you gain more flexibility, which loosens tight muscles and prevents injury.
Doing yoga on a full stomach is not fun, however, practicing yoga when your stomach is growling isn’t a good idea either. We recommend eating a light snack one hour before class or a meal 2-3 hours before class. This way your body is fueled but not focused on digestion. Please remember to drink plenty of water before and after class.
Yoga translates to “union”. Each style of yoga is an expression of body, mind, spirit and breath union. Soul Power Yoga is a Vinyasa studio. Vinyasa means “breath synchronized movement” and therefore, each movement is linked with every breath creating a dance like sequence. This style can offer softer classes, such as Soul Flow into Bliss focusing on deep holds and grow into a vigorous athletic class such as Soul Power Yoga. Vinyasa gives you the freedom to build a sustainable practice as you can safely practice daily and adjust each class for the intensity and focus you are seeking that day. For complete descriptions of the various classes offered at Soul Power Yoga please click here.
Dedicated to sharing all aspects of yoga, attend one of our workshops or class with a guest teacher to explore various styles of yoga such as Kundalini, Anusara, Jivamukti and Ashtanga.

We believe in safe levels of heat not overpowering can’t breathe heat. Therefore, not every class is strongly heated; however, please note our Level 1 classes are slightly warmer than room temperature. Level 2 and higher is heated to encourage you to sweat!
One of the most important ways our body releases toxins is through sweat. The heat in the room, combined with the internal heat you are building by moving your body, promotes detoxification through the largest organ of your body – your skin!
With the first studio in Monmouth and Ocean County to invest in a state of the art heating system, our heat is gentle, dustless and noiseless. This system assists in reducing join pain, boosting your immune system, regulating your metabolism and improve skin quality. We recommend those new to heated styles of yoga begin with Level 1 to acclimate and build slowly to Level 2 and higher in order to safely transition to higher temperatures.
Yes, our Level 2 and higher classes are designed to make you sweat! Power Yoga and vinyasa flow classes generate significant internal heat allowing you to fully detoxify from within but also build heat safely. Plan to hydrate well before attending and take breaks as needed.
