Yoga Exercise For Kids
Kids Yoga Level 1 – children ages 4-6 years-old
A fun class in which we build upon the child’s natural curiosity to explore and learn by creatively teaching simple yoga poses (through storytelling and songs), breathing and relaxation. We help children develop their social, sensory and motor skills while also learning flexibility, social bonding skills and self-expression.
Kids Yoga Level 2 – children ages 6-12 years-old
This class is a playful yet structured class that teaches yoga, breathing and meditation. We work to improve strength, flexibility, focus, and coordination all while having fun! Children learn self-respect and respect for others. We also do partner, group poses and age appropriate games.
Kids Yoga Level 3 – children ages 9-12 years-old
This class is for those children who have been in our Kids Level 2 classes for at least 6 months. This class helps build strength and flexibility with more physically challenging poses, flowing sequences, breathing and meditation. We focus on promoting self-confidence, awareness and control. Age appropriate games are included in every class.
Tween Empowerment Classes – ages 12-15
In this class we use yoga poses, breathing, meditation, to build inner and outer strength, flexibility, learning ways to relax and calm the mind, reduce stress, manage emotions, and enhance positive self-awareness and self-esteem. The class is structured to introduce challenging yoga poses, breathing techniques, meditation, age appropriate games, partner and group poses. Our aim is to help develop a positive relationship with the body, mind, and spirit – and learn life-long skills.
Specialty Kids & Family Yoga Classes
During various school breaks, Kid’s Camps are a great way to set aside time for mind, body, spirit development – through yoga, breathing, meditation, partner/group poses, age appropriate games. Each camp will have a theme to help enhance strength, flexibility and promote child’s creativity and emotional balance.
A great way to bond with your family while learning valuable lifelong skills for the mind, body, spirit. We will build strength, flexibility, confidence, healthy bodies and self-expression through yoga poses, breathing, meditation and interactive family poses/activities. This class is set-up as a 45 minute private session.
Semi-private and private Kids classes
Let us know what you are looking to accomplish and we can set-up a private or semi-private classes or direct you to which group class would be best. For example,
- Would you like to do a private class with your tween friends?
- Would a 1-1 work better for your child to address his/her specific needs – such as scoliosis, ADD, Autism, athletic strength training, etc.?
- Would you like to get the family together to learn how to develop/enhance healthy bodies and reduce stress? Or just to share or introduce yoga?
Yoga Birthday Party
Celebrate your birthday yoga style! – for first-year birthdays all the way to adults! You choose a your own theme and we will host a 45 minute birthday party right here at SPY (or come to you)! Some previous themes have been slumber party, soccer, princess, doll (bring your doll!), spa – we’ll work with you on ideas and then develop a party filled with yoga, fun, games…
